This session covers why market research is important, the different types of market research that can be conducted and will explore resources that are available to help, from researching your business idea and market to analysing your competition and sourcing suppliers.

Aims of the webinar:
• To understand why market research is important for business start-ups
• To understand what business subscription resources are available online and what they can be used for
• To feel confident accessing these resources as well as exploring market research resources that are freely available, such as Office for National Statistics, Companies House and The Gazette. The session will cover online free business subscription resources that can be accessed through Northamptonshire Libraries including:
• Complete Business Reference Adviser (COBRA)
• Fame – company information
• IBIS World market research reports

About the presenter
This session will be presented by Jo Hoyer; Business & IP Centre Northamptonshire. 

Jo Hoyer has a degree in Business Studies, specialising in marketing, from University of Northampton and is a qualified Learning and Development practitioner. In her role with Business & IP Centre Northamptonshire she supports entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses through one-to-one support, workshops and webinars and helping them access market research resources.
